Torres was on the New York City Council for seven years before he was elected to Congress in 2020. He was asked what he's most proud of during his 20 years in politics.

New York Lieutenant Gov. Antonio Delgado, who chairs a committee on antisemitism and Islamophobia, said, "Hate has been normalized to a degree that is simply not sustainable for a healthy, well-functioning, civilized society," especially after Hamas attacked Israel on Oct. 7. 

Delgado said it's impacting all marginalized communities.
