Temporary Blackout Hits Parts Of New Rochelle
NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) - Thousands of people were without power for roughly an hour Wednesday morning.
Sections of south and east New Rochelle went dark just before 11 a.m.
Police told CBS 2's Lou Young power went out in pockets.
Con Edison told CBS 2 3,827 customers were without power.
The areas of greatest concern included traffic lights near Sound Shore Hospital, which operated on emergency power.
Businesses in the area were doing a cash-only business during the outage.
Power started to be restored at around noon. Full power restoration was expected by 3 p.m., Con Ed said.
