Tax Day Is Upon Us! Are You Requesting An Extension?
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - It's Tax Day and state and federal returns must be mailed or e-filed before midnight.
If you need an extension, you're in good company. The IRS said more than 634,000 New Yorkers are expected to request one.
But remember, it's an extension to file, not to pay what you might owe.
The payment has to be postmarked by April 15 or you could face penalties.
While the post offices don't get as much traffic as they used to on Tax Day, the James Farley Post Office will be open until midnight, 1010 WINS' Glenn Schuck reported.
