Suspect Wanted In Robberies Of 3 Women In Queens

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police on Thursday were asking the public to help them find a suspect wanted in the robberies of three women in Queens.

The first incident happened around 12:30 a.m. on Feb. 11. Police said the suspect approached a woman as she walked down Lefferts Boulevard in Kew Gardens Queens and pushed her up against a fence as she reached Metropolitan Avenue.

The suspect then flashed a box cutter and took the woman's purse, police said.

In the second incident on Feb. 12, a woman was walking on Continental Avenue near Dartmouth Street in Forest Hills when the suspect got out of a four-door sedan and grabbed the woman in a bear hug, police said.

No knife was displayed, but the suspect threatened to cut the victim and grabbed her purse, police said. He fled in the sedan.

The third incident happened around 1:45 p.m. Wednesday outside 71-25 Austin Street in Forest Hills.

The suspect again grabbed a woman in a bear hug as she walked past the address and pressed a sharp object against her hand before taking her purse, police said. The suspect then took off in a four-door sedan.

Police have released images of the suspect and the car.
