It was a chance for people to gather in public, take a swipe at a complete stranger, and get away with it.
The event was started as a way to have fun, blow off steam, and say goodbye to winter, organizers said.
"I feel like you're never too old to have fun so I'm all about unleashing inner child whenever I have the opportunity to," Nikki told 1010 WINS' Gary Baumgarten.
Participants were asked to dress as their favorite superhero or villain and to use a soft pillow.
