Boy Found Unconscious At LI School Revived By Police

BRENTWOOD, N.Y. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- A police officer helped revive a 10-year-old boy who was found unresponsive at a school playground in Long Island.

The boy was found unresponsive at Laurel Park Elementary School in Brentwood at around 2:45 p.m. Wednesday. According to officials, the boy was pulseless and not breathing.

Officer John McAuley, a member of the Suffolk County Police Department Medical Crisis Action Team used a resusitating device on the boy as the school nurse performed chest compressions. According to police, they continued CPR for approximately two minutes before the boy regained consciousness, with his pulse and breathing restored.

The boy was taken to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore in stable condition.
