NYPD: 2 Steal Official FDNY Vehicle, Take Joyride Through Bronx
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Two men were arrested after allegedly stealing an official FDNY vehicle sitting in front of a hospital in the Bronx on Saturday night.
Joshua Gilead, 31 and Jorge Santiago, 54, hopped into the red GMC Sierra, bearing FDNY letters, as it sat in front on Jacobi Medical Center at around 10 p.m., authorities said. The duo then drove off in the vehicle.
Police used the car's GPS system to track the car down, eventually catching the culprits at the Soundview Houses near Seward and Metcalf Avenues in Soundview, authorities said.
Gilead and Santiago were charged with grand larceny, petty larceny and unauthorized use of a vehicle, police said.
CBS2 is waiting for a response from the FDNY.
