Sources: Gov. Andrew Cuomo To Be Questioned Saturday In Sexual Harassment Inquiry
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - Sources tell CBS2 Gov. Andrew Cuomo will be questioned Saturday by investigators from the New York State Attorney General's office as part of an inquiry into several sexual harassment accusations against him.
Sources say the questioning does not necessarily signal the end of the investigation, but it could result in interviewing new people and previous interviewees.
In a statement, the governor's office said "The governor doesn't want to comment on this review until he has cooperated, but the continued leaks are more evidence of the transparent political motivation of the Attorney General's review."
Several women, including former aide Charlotte Bennett, have accused the governor of sexual harassment or inappropriate behavior.
The accusations began to come out in December 2020 when former aide Lindsey Boylan described alleged harassment in a series of tweets.
At the time, the governor's press secretary said, "There is simply no truth to these claims."
At least seven more women stepped forward with accusations in the following months. The governor has denied any wrongdoing.
