Cuomo Announces 'See Something, Send Something' App

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) -- New York law enforcement is making it easier to report suspicious activity with a new mobile app that allows users to send tips using their smartphones.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced the `see something, send something' app on Monday.

The campaign encourages people to report suspicious activity through their smartphone app. Users can send texts or photo tips to law enforcement officials while on-the-go, CBS2 reported.

The governor's office says the app makes reporting suspicious behavior easy because the tipster doesn't have to decide which law enforcement agency to contact.

The app can be downloaded for for free.
