Search On For Missing Westchester County Man With Dementia, Parkinson's Disease

SOMERS, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- A Silver Alert has been issued for a missing Westchester man who suffers from Parkinson's disease and dementia.

Gary McKeon, 67, was last seen at his home in Somers around 7:30 a.m. Friday.

The father of five is believed to be on foot was last seen wearing a dark blue polo shirt, according to the alert.

"We either think that he walked out of the house and through the neighborhood and slipped and fell and he's located there or somebody saw him on the road and picked him up," McKeon's son, Eamon, told 1010 WINS.

He said they have done an extensive search of the area that involved state troopers, members of the volunteer fire department, police dogs, helicopters and help from friends and volunteers.

Eamon said it's possible that his father might have tried to travel to New York City because he once worked there.

"We're staying pretty positive," he said. "We've got a big support of people, we've got really great friends that have come and volunteered. Everybody has stayed really positive, we've gotten a lot closer through this process."

McKeon is a 5-foot-11 and about 250 pounds. He may be in need of medical attention.
