Search For Missing Mother In Long Island Intensifies
MEDFORD, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) - Suffolk Police are turning to the public for help in finding a missing young mother.
Sarah Goode was last seen Friday night at a friend's house in Shirley.
Goode, 21, is the mother a 4-year-old girl. Family and friends told WCBS 880's Mike Xirinachs that it's completely out of character for her to go missing.
Her abandoned BMW was discovered Sunday near a wooded area in Medford.
There were apparent signs of a struggle inside the car. Police have since towed it.
One witness also said there appeared to be blood in Goode's vehicle.
"The fact that her car was found and not near a house, unoccupied. She loves this car. Something is suspicious here, and we want to find this girl," Suffolk County Det. Sgt. Michael Fitzharris said Monday.
"Your baby girl can't wait to give you that great big hug when you come home. We just want you to come home safely," Sarah's sister Elizabeth DeMuria said.
Police dogs are being used to search for Goode.
Authorities are reviewing her cell phone use and refusing comment on whether she left her friend's house alone when she left Friday.
She is described as white with a light complexion. She is 5 feet, 3 inches tall, weighs 100 pounds and has long, brown hair with blond highlights, brown eyes and a flower tattoo on one foot.
Anyone with information about Goode's whereabouts is asked to call Suffolk County Crime Stoppers at (800) 220-TIPS.
