Amy Schumer Hints That Her Hit Comedy Series Is Coming To An End

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) -- Amy Schumer has hinted that she's done with her Comedy Central series "Inside Amy Schumer.''

"We aren't making the show anymore,'' Schumer tweeted Wednesday night.

After that, Schumer re-tweeted a fan's sorrowful comment that the show might be ending.

Until now, there had been no indication the sketch-comedy series might be nearing its conclusion. After four seasons, it remains a popular and critical hit, having won a Peabody Award and two Emmys, with four Emmy nods this year.

Representatives for Schumer and Comedy Central, which has ordered a fifth season, had no immediate comment.

The tweets followed a social-media eruption over incendiary remarks by "Inside Amy Schumer'' writer Kurt Metzger.

Schumer responded that Metzger isn't currently a writer for the show "because we aren't making the show anymore.''

The comedian continued to comment on reports Thursday morning, citing that the show was not cancelled by Comedy Central.
