New video evidence allegedly shows deadly West Side Highway bike path attack suspect Sayfullo Saipov running with guns
NEW YORK -- There was new video evidence Tuesday in the trial of the man accused of killing eight people on a bike path along the West Side Highway in 2017.
The U.S. Attorney's office says the video shows the suspect, Sayfullo Saipov, in the moments after the attack.
Saipov does not deny his guilt and admits being inspired by ISIS, but his attorneys insist he was not attached to ISIS in any meaningful way.

Never-before-seen video allegedly shows Saipov waving two fake weapons at the end of the line in a trail of terror and death.
Saipov had just plowed his rental truck down 14 blocks on the West Side bike lanes, killing eight people. Many of the victims were tourists riding Citi Bikes.
It was the deadliest terror attack in the city since 9/11.
In video entered into evidence at his trial, he is seen running through traffic on West Street and he's heard yelling "Allahu akbar," Arabic for "God is great." He is then seen trying to evade police officers who were hot on his trail.
Students at nearby Stuyvesant High School and Borough of Manhattan Community College watched from above in horror.

Finally, video shows Saipov aim his apparent guns at police officer Ryan Nash, who opens fire on him.
Prosecutors showed video of Saipov entering a Home Depot in Passaic, New Jersey, on Halloween 2017 and later leaving on his way to carry out his massacre.
The truck ultimately plowed into a school bus and came to a stop.
In photos shown in court, you can see the receipt for the rental vehicle on the seat.
Police found knives and the fake weapons -- a pellet gun and a paintball gun.
Of the victims, two were Americans, five were from Argentina and one was from Belgium.
If convicted, Saipov would be eligible for the death penalty.
