Man Charged With Sexually Assaulting Woman In Saddle Brook
SADDLE BROOK, N.J. (CBSNewYork) -- A Saddle Brook, New Jersey man was charged Monday with sexually assaulting a woman in a home in the municipality over the weekend.
Robert Meyers, 40, was charged with sexual assault and terroristic threats in the incident this past Saturday, according to the Bergen County Prosecutor's office.
A woman came to Hackensack University Medical Center in Hackensack on Saturday and reported that she had been sexually assaulted earlier in the day at a Saddle Brook home, prosecutors said.
Saddle Brook police and the prosecutor's office launched a joint investigation, which led them to Meyers, prosecutors said.
Prosecutors did not provide further details on the incident, nor did they specify why Meyers was also charged with terroristic threats.
Bail for Meyers was set at $25,000 by Bergen County Judge Steven Schechter and he was released. He is not to have contact with the victim and had to surrender his passport and any firearms, prosecutors said.
Meyers is due back in court on Friday, Sept. 2.
