Right Lane Closed On Short Stretch Of Southbound West Side Highway

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- One lane of the southbound West Side Highway on an Upper West Side stretch will be closed through at least Monday morning, as crews conduct inspections.

The New York City Department of Transportation ordered the closure of the right southbound lane in the highway – formally called the Henry Hudson Parkway – between 86th and 89th streets. The closure took effect at 6:30 p.m., the department said.

The left and center lanes will remain open.

The closure was ordered as crews investigate a subsurface condition on the highway, the department said. The department did not elaborate on the condition.

Details on the reopening of the lane, or any additional closures, will follow at a later time, the department said.
