Reward Offered 16 Years After Teenage Girl's Murder In Sayreville, New Jersey
SAYREVILLE, N.J. (CBSNewYork) -- A reward was being offered Monday in the murder of a teenage girl from Sayreville, New Jersey – 16 years after her body was discovered.
Nancy Noga, a high school senior, left her after-school job at a store on Route 9 in Old Bridge, New Jersey on the bitterly cold night of Jan. 7, 1999, and never returned, according to the Middlesex County Prosecutor's office.
On Jan. 12, 1999, a passerby found her body in a wooden area behind the Mini Mart Plaza shopping center on Ernston Road in Sayreville.
Her body was found fully clothed, and she had been struck in the head with a tree limb. Detectives believed the girl, who was very cautious by nature, may have known her killer.
Police said even on such a bitterly cold night as the one on which she disappeared, it's not likely Noga would have accepted a ride from someone she didn't know.
Police initially had a sketch of someone seen in the area, but it led nowhere.

Those who call will be given instructions on how to collect cash rewards by using a numerical code that will be recognized by a local bank. The amount of the awards will be decided by the Crime Stoppers of Middlesex County Board of Directors.
