Retired NYPD Officer Faces Charges After Bystander Injured In Queens Shooting
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A retired NYPD officer faces assault charges after a shooting inside a Queens restaurant.
Police say 52-year-old Dwayne Chandler, from Staten Island, got into an argument with another man Tuesday night at a Howard Beach sushi restaurant.
They say Chandler fired a gun, hitting a bystander in the back.
Prosecutors say that victim currently cannot feel his legs or move his toes.
Chandler is due back in court in July.
