Tracey Carter-Bacott and her family, of the Bronx, were among those enjoying the beautiful weather.
"It's finally here," she told Sanchez. "It feels good. No complaints. It's comfortable. It's not too hot. Honestly, I'm loving it. Thank you to the weather people at CBS for bringing this to us."
Parents teamed up with their kids to try their luck with games. The holiday weekend was certainly turning into a winning one for everyone.
"The rides, the boardwalk, we walked on the beach," said Jessica Acevedo of Mott Haven, Bronx. "Perfect Memorial Day weekend."
On a rainy Saturday, Coney Island officials said they were ready and eager to welcome guests to newest $10 million attraction.
"The Thunderbolt roller coaster is making its debut in the next week, so we're excited to take people through inversions, G-force and corkscrews," Luna Park marketing manager Nicole Purmal.
