Reports: Police Say Woman Bashed Bouncer With Bottle At LES Bar

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police on Monday were searching for a woman who allegedly bashed a bouncer in the head with a bottle in a Lower East Side nightclub this past weekend.

Around 8:15 p.m. Sunday at the Whiskey Ward bar and nightclub, 121 Essex St., the 33-year-old man – whom published reports said was the bouncer – got into a quarrel with the woman, who was with another man, police said.

He asked the woman to leave the bar, police said.

The woman then struck the victim in the head with a glass bottle, causing minor cuts, police said.

The victim was taken to Woodhull Medical Center, where he was treated for his injuries, police said.

Police have released a surveillance image they said shows the woman. It also shows the man who was with her, who is wanted for questioning, police said.

Anyone with information was asked to call the NYPD Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS, log onto the Crime Stoppers website, or text tips to 274637 (CRIMES) and enter TIP577.
