Report: Brooklyn Men Claim Cops Tried To Steal Their White Castle Sliders
NEW YORK(CBSNewYork) -- A pair of Brooklyn men are suing the NYPD over an incident that allegedly took place in 2012.
Shortly after Superstorm Sandy, police in Coney Island were rounding up looting suspects at a Neptune Ave. supermarket.
Danny Maisonet and Kenneth Glover claim that they were getting out of a taxi with a bag full of White Castle sliders when police allegedly ordered them to turn over their burgers. The men said that they were arrested when they refused to part with the food, The Daily News reported.
Police offered a different take and said that Maisonet and Glover were arrested for getting in the way of officers who were attempting to pursue looting suspects.
