Man Accused Of Strangling Live-In Girlfriend In Rahway, New Jersey
RAHWAY, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- A man was arrested and charged in Rahway, New Jersey Saturday after police alleged he strangled his live-in girlfriend.
Union County prosecutors said that Ignacio Ortiz, 40, was charged Saturday with killing Yury Cruz, 27.
Ortiz was being held in the Union County Jail on $1 million bail.
Police responded to the home where the couple lived around 2:30 a.m. Saturday. Cruz was unresponsive when they arrived and she was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.
An autopsy will be performed this week.
