NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - President Barack Obama will visit the construction site for the new Tappan Zee Bridge this week.

The president will be in the Tri-State area on Wednesday as part of a push for more infrastructure spending.

Construction is in full swing to replace the 58-year-old bridge.

A $1.6 billion federal loan was recently approved for the nearly $4 billion project.

The White House is planning several infrastructure-themed events this week.
