VIDEO: Porsche Catches Fire At New York Auto Show
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Some horrifying moments were captured on video at the New York International Auto Show.
An Porsche 911 to burst into flames inside the special events hall at the Jacob Javits Center on Thursday.
"Workers in the room quickly saw that there was an issue, used the fire extinguishers that were in the room and put it out within seconds of the fire starting," New York Auto Show spokesman Chris Sam told 1010 WINS' Al Jones.
Witness Vlad Shurigin recorded video of the incident and posted it to Instagram and Facebook.
In the video, people can be heard yelling "fire" and "get out of there" as workers extinguish the flames.
Shurigin also posted a picture of the aftermath.
Sam said the Porsche was going to be part of this weekend's Dub Show, featuring "tuner" or "tricked out" cars. He described the incident as a "small electrical fire."
"We replaced a couple of carpeting floor tiles and the show's gonna go on just like it needs to," Sam said.
The hall was closed to the public at the time of the fire.
