Police: Suspects Robbed Queens Subway Restaurants, Gas Station At Gunpoint
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police on Tuesday were searching for a pair of suspects who held up two Subway restaurants and a gas station at gunpoint in Queens.
The robberies happened between January and March in Jamaica, Utopia, and Laurelton, Queens.
• Around 9:20 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 1, two suspects walked into the Subway restaurant at 127-02 Merrick Blvd. One of the suspects put a gun to a victim's head and demanded money, while the second suspect held a second victim on the floor, police said. The suspects took $500 and fled south on 127th Avenue.
• Around 10:10 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 3, two suspects walked into a gas station at 181-05 Horace Harding Expressway, took out a silver gun, and took about $500. The suspects, who were wearing masks and gloves, ran off in an unknown direction, police said.
• Around 10 p.m. Tuesday, March 17, the suspects walked into a Subway restaurant at 219-25 North Conduit Ave., took out a dark gray handgun, and demanded for the safe to be opened, police said. The suspects were wearing masks and black hooded jackets, police said. After a brief struggle with employees, the suspects ran east on North Conduit, police said.
There were no injuries reported in any of the incidents.
The suspects were described as black males standing 5 feet 9 to 6 feet 2 inches tall, and weighing 190 to 230 pounds. Police have released a video from the third incident.
