Police: Suspect Beat Man With Hammer In Brooklyn Subway Station

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police on Tuesday were asking for help in finding a suspect who bashed a man in the head several times in the head with a hammer at a subway station in East New York, Brooklyn.

The 19-year-old man was getting off an outbound C Train at the Euclid Avenue station around 12:50 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 6, when the suspect came up to him, police said.

The suspect hit the man several times in the head and then left, police said.

The victim was taken to Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center, where he was treated for a laceration to his head, police said.

The victim said he knew the suspect by sight only, police said.
