Police: Suspect Arrested In Fatal West Village Stabbing
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A suspect has been arrested in connection with a fatal stabbing of a woman inside her West Village apartment.
The victim's boyfriend, 69-year-old Dennis Guglielmo, was arrested on second-degree murder and criminal possession of a weapon charges, police said Friday.
Police said 59-year-old Alice Birnbaum was found with multiple stab wounds to the chest inside the couple's Downing Street apartment on Thursday. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Sources told CBS 2 that a relative of the suspect called police to report the crime. The relative did not witness the stabbing, but called police from the apartment.
The investigation is ongoing.
