Police Seek Identity Of Man Hit By Car While Biking In The Bronx
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police on Friday were asking the public to help identify a man who was hit by a car while riding a bicycle in the Bronx.
Around 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, the man was hit as he rode his bike west on 165th Street, crossing over Melrose Avenue, in the Morrisania section of the Bronx, police said.
He was struck by a 2007 Chevrolet livery cab, which a 51-year-old man was driving north on Melrose Avenue through 165th Street, where Melrose Avenue turns into Webster Avenue, police said.
The driver stayed at the scene and was not ticketed.
The victim was taken to Lincoln Medical and Mental Health Center, where he remained unconscious and unresponsive Friday night and was in critical condition with face fractures.
The man was described as black and in his mid-30s, standing 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighing 190 pounds.
