Police Seek 2 In Shooting That Killed Man Near Van Wyck Expy. In Queens
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police were searching for two suspects Wednesday in a shooting that left a man dead near the Van Wyck Expressway in Queens.
Around 3 p.m. Tuesday, police were called to Atlantic Avenue at the Van Wyck Expressway, on the cusp of Richmond Hill and Jamaica, Queens.
They found a 28-year-old man with gunshot wounds to the head, torso and limbs, police said.
The man – later identified as Derek Quattlebaum -- was rushed to Jamaica Hospital Center, where he was pronounced dead, police said.
Police on Tuesday released a surveillance video showing two men who approached Quattlebaum at the BP gas station near the scene of the shooting. They were driving a 2003 blue Audi A6 with Vermont license plate GHF-306.
