Police: Robber Has Held Up Convenience Stores, Gas Stations In Eastern Queens

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police on Monday were searching for a suspect in a string of robberies that targeted two convenience stores, a gas station and a hardware store in Queens.

The broad-daylight robberies happened between Monday of last week and this past Sunday in the Bellerose and Queens Village sections of Queens.

Specifically, the robberies happened at the following times and locations:

• At 12:28 p.m. Monday, March 2, at the Baile Deli and Grocery, at 222-15 Braddock Ave. The suspect flashed a firearm and demanded cash, and made off with $1,000, police said. He fled eat on Braddock Avenue on foot, police said.

• Around 10:35 a.m. Sunday, March 8, at the Gulf Gas Station, at 239-15 Jamaica Ave. The suspect displayed a gun and demanded cash, and made off with $75.05, police said.

• At 1:14 p.m. Sunday, March 8, at a convenience store at 236-11 Braddock Ave. The suspect first played a lotto game, then went to the refrigerator, took out a beverage and put it on the counter, police said. The suspect then displayed a firearm and demanded both the beverage and the cash, police said. He made off with $1,500 cash, police said.

• At 1:30 p.m. Sunday, March 8, at a the Mogul Hardware store at 212-44 91st Ave. The suspect displayed a firearm and demanded cash, and made off $30, police said. He was last seen running east on 91st Avenue.

The suspect was described as a white Hispanic male approximately 40 years old, standing about 6 feet 3 inches weighing about 200 pounds.

He was last seen wearing a light blue "Adidas" hooded sweatshirt in the most recent incident. Police have released a surveillance photo.
