Police Release Sketch Of Suspect In Knifepoint Robbery Of Woman In Brooklyn
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police on Thursday released a sketch of a suspect who robbed a woman at knifepoint in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn.
The robbery happened around 2:45 p.m. this past Monday, as the woman got out of the elevator in her apartment building near Franklin and DeKalb avenues in Brooklyn, police said.
The suspect told the woman to be quiet, and threatened to hurt her child if she did not hand over her property, police said.
The suspect then ripped off the woman's pocketbook, and ran off, police said.
Neither the victim nor her child was injured, police said.
The suspect was described as a black male between the ages of 40 and 50, standing about 5 feet 8 to 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighing about 160 to 180 pounds. He was wearing a black skull cap with a white stripe, and had a large scar on the left side of his face from his ear to his lip, police said.
