Police: Random Bottle Attack On Jogger Being Investigated As A Hate Crime
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - A random attack was caught on camera in Queens.
Video shows a woman tossing a glass bottle at a Black jogger.
The NYPD Hate Crimes Task Force is investigating.
Police say the suspect shouted a racial slur and continued to shout after the jogger ran by.
It happened on Aug. 17 at around noon at 53rd Place and Broadway in Woodside.
The jogger was not hurt.
"She needs to look inside and do some soul searching and figure out why it's necessary to use that language toward people, because I'm a human being, this is the way I was born and there's nothing that's going to change that," the 37-year-old victim, Tiffany Johnson, told CBS2.
