Police: Man Struck, Killed By MTA Bus In The Bronx

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A man has died after being struck by a city bus while crossing the street in the Bronx.

It happened just after 1:30 a.m. Friday on East 147th Street at Willis Avenue.

An MTA BX15 bus was heading north on Willis Avenue when it made a left turn onto East 147th Street and hit the man as he was crossing the street, police said.

Police said the man wound up beneath the bus. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver remained on the scene.

The victim's identity has not yet been released. The investigation is ongoing.
