Police: Man Robs 3 Women, Including Mother Pushing Stroller, In The Bronx

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police are searching for a man who they said robbed three women, including a mother pushing her baby in a stroller, in a two-hour span in the Bronx last Friday.

All three incidents occurred near Brown Place and East 136th Street in the Mott Haven section.

Around 5:20 a.m., police said the suspect grabbed a 26-year-old woman from behind, pressed an object to her side and demanded her property. He took her cell phone and ATM card before fleeing, police said.

About two hours later, police said the same man targeted a 28-year-old woman pushing her baby in a stroller. The suspect allegedly came up behind her, grabbed her by the waist and stuck a black object to her side. The victim handed over her watch, but when the suspect noticed her purse underneath the stroller and tried to take it, she held onto it and screamed for help, 1010 WINS' Al Jones reported.

The suspect let go of the purse when he noticed a passerby, according to the NYPD.

The suspect then grabbed the passerby's cell phone from her hand and ran off, police said.

Elizabeth, who lives in the neighborhood, said it is frightening.

"It's kind of dangerous for us women to be walking around," she said.
