Police: Man Ripped Off $2,400 Camera From Greenpoint Photo Studio

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police on Tuesday were asking the public for assistance in finding a suspect who allegedly swiped a $2,400 camera from a photography studio in Greenpoint, Brooklyn.

Around 2 p.m. Monday, July 14, the suspect walked into a photo studio in the Greenpoint Terminal Market at 67 West St. in Brooklyn, police said.

The man began chatting with the photographers inside, and swiped the $2,400 Nikon camera before leaving on foot.

Police have released a surveillance video of the theft in progress.

Anyone with information was asked to call the NYPD Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS, log onto the Crime Stoppers website, or text tips to 274637 (CRIMES) and enter TIP577.
