Police: Drunken Driver Crashed Car Through Long Island Store Window
COPIAGUE, N.Y. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- A Long Island woman has been arrested and charged with crashing her car through the window of a store and then fleeing.
Suffolk County police charged Gabrielle Lewis, 22, with driving while intoxicated and fleeing the scene of an accident.
She was arrested early Monday morning at her Copiague home, just blocks from the crash scene.
Lewis allegedly smashed her 2008 Nissan Altima into the Ace hardware store on Montauk Highway in Copiague around 12:20 a.m. She left her car at the scene and was apparently driven home, police told Newsday.
It wasn't immediately known if she had a lawyer.
