Police: Developmentally Disabled Queens Man Has Been Missing Since Tuesday

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police on Wednesday were asking for help from the public in finding developmentally disabled a man who has been missing since Monday.

Israel Jardinez, 24, of Richmond Hill, Queens, was last seen leaving Mount Sinai Hospital, at 17 E. 102nd St. in East Harlem.

Jardinez has the mental capacity of a 5-year-old, police said.

Jardinez is 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighs 220 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black jacket with "Mi-Raza" logo, tan pants, a black and white hoodie and sneakers.

He has a partially-closed left eye, police said.

Police said Jardinez may be riding the subway.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts was asked to call the NYPD Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS, log onto the Crime Stoppers website, or text tips to 274637 (CRIMES) and enter TIP577.
