Police: Armed Robbers Struck 2 Yonkers Stores In 15 Minutes
YONKERS, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- Yonkers police on Thursday were investigating two gunpoint robberies that occurred within a period of 15 minutes earlier this week, which police said were related.
The first incident happened around 5:10 a.m. Tuesday at the Irish Mini Mart, at 821 McLean Ave. Surveillance video showed three masked suspects storming into the convenience store, while a female employee is knocked to the ground.
Three robbers flashed handguns and took money from the cash register, police said.
A fourth suspect walked in a few minutes later, and all four suspects fled, police said.
Fifteen minutes later, three masked suspects with handguns stormed into a Dunkin' Donuts at 680 Central Park Ave. in Yonkers, and went behind the counter to take money from the register, police said.
The suspects ran off to an unknown location afterward, police said.
Police also obtained surveillance video of the second incident.
