Police: 4 Men Pose As Utility Workers, Steal Materials From Brooklyn Cell Phone Tower

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police are looking for four men who they said posed as utility workers to steal materials from a cell phone tower in Brooklyn.

It happened back on Jan. 13 at a commercial building on Putnam Avenue in Bushwick.

Police said the four told security personnel that they were utility workers and needed to gain access to the roof. Once there, they stole eight batteries and 40 feet of copper wire from a cell phone tower, police said.

The men then went back downstairs and fled the scene.

The suspects were seen on surveillance video inside an elevator.

Police described them only as two, dark-skinned Hispanic males and two, light-skinned Hispanic males. They were all seen on the video wearing white hard hats.
