Police: 3 Dead In Murder-Suicide On Long Island
WADING RIVER, N.Y. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- Police say three people are dead in a double murder-suicide on Long Island.
It happened inside a Wading River house around 10 p.m. Sunday.
Suffolk County police say 44-year-old Thomas Calhoun shot his girlfriend, 43-year-old Tanya Lawrence, and her 7-year-old daughter Danielle Lawrence before killing himself.
Sources said Calhoun was enraged by the ending of his relationship with his girlfriend, 1010 WINS' Mona Rivera reported.
"It was not good over there," neighbor Jeremy Simone told Rivera. "She was trying to throw him out and he didn't want to go."
Neighbors told WCBS 880's Mike Xirinachs the couple always seemed to be fighting and some described Calhoun as mean.
"Very loud, he wasn't very nice," said neighbor Jesse Greenberg.
Officers responded after receiving a 911 call of a gunshot victim at the location. Neighbors said a younger daughter, a ninth grader, managed to escape and call police, Rivera reported.
Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call police at 631-852-6392.
