Police: 17-Year-Old Girl Shot To Death In Bronx

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police are searching for whoever shot a 17-year-old girl during a fight in the Bronx on Saturday.

Dozens of family and friends were in the West Farms section of the borough on Sunday night outside the home of Vlana Robert to remember her life after it was cut short less than 24 hours earlier, CBS2's Reena Roy reported.

Police said the teen showed up at St. Barnabas Hospital just before 11 p.m. with a gunshot wound in her torso area. They said she was transported there after getting shot on Vyse Avenue in front of an apartment building just a few blocks from her home. Investigators said it's unclear if she was the intended target. Detectives were still working to figure out a motive.

Investigators said it is still a very active investigation and nobody has been arrested.
