Plane Returned To JFK Over Concerns About Anti-Icing System
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A plane had to return to John F. Kennedy International Airport Monday evening, after a cockpit indicator light showed possible problems with the anti-icing system.
American Airlines Flight 94, a Boeing 757 that had left the airport at 7 p.m., returned to JFK shortly before 9 p.m. after the light went off indicating the potential problem with the anti-icing system.
The crew declared an emergency, and the plane landed normally and taxied to the gate where mechanics looked at it, according to American Airlines spokeswoman Mary Frances Fagan.
No one was injured when the plane returned to JFK, Fagan said in a statement.
The aircraft had 110 passengers and a crew of nine onboard.
