Pier 42 Offers Family-Friendly Fun This Summer

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- There's a new reason to stay in the city on a perfect summer day.

Pier 42 between the Manhattan and Williamsburg bridges is really taking shape as a park.

On Saturday, the group Paths To Pier 42 celebrated its summer launch, CBS 2 reported.

There were games and activities for the kids, and there's a growing display of outdoor artwork for everyone to enjoy.

The pier recently received $250,000 in funding for improvements.
