Philly Radio Host Gloats, Apologizes After Cruz Injures Knee
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- You don't celebrate injuries.
A Philadelphia radio host is getting a lesson in the unwritten rules of sportsmanship after sending an ill-advised tweet during Sunday night's Giants-Eagles game.
Mike Missanelli of 97.5 The Fanatic insists he wasn't relishing in Victor Cruz's season-ending patellar tear when he wrote: "Hey Giants fans: Victor Cruz is over. Dance to that."
Missanelli deleted the tweet, claiming he was only commenting on the pass Cruz dropped on fourth down before clutching his right knee. He spent the rest of the night apologizing profusely to those on Twitter who ripped him for being insensitive.
I apologize for the Cruz tweet. I didn't see that he got hurt on the play. Was outside the stadium and saw he dropped it walking to my car

I just saw on big screen outside stadium that he dropped the pass. Didn't see that he got hurt on play. My bad.

I would never have tweeted that had I known he got injured. Please know that.

@djjohnbear Well, it's the truth. Giants fans, I meant no disrespect. I didn't see the injury and didn't know about it when I tweeted.

Unintentional or not, Missanelli wasn't the only one. A New York Daily News photographer caught two men in Eagles apparel pumping their fists on the field behind the end zone -- one yelling in celebration -- while Cruz was grabbing at his injured knee.
Hey @mikemiss975 does this give you the warm fuzzies or nah? #giants #eagles pic.twitter.com/NaxRj9oaDF
