3 Teens Accused Of Burglarizing Paterson School, Taking iPads, Cellphones

PATERSON, N.J. (CBSNewYork) -- Three teens has been accused in the burglary of a school in Paterson, New Jersey earlier this month.

Just after midnight on Oct. 18, a burglary took place at Public School No. 4, at 55 Clinton St. in Paterson, according to Paterson police.

The suspects got in by prying open a door, police said.

A total of 14 iPads and 20 cellphones were taken, an inventory by the school revealed. The collective value of the items was about $10,000, police said.

Two juveniles – ages 16 and 17 – and Jonathan Crawford, 18, of Paterson, were named as those responsible for the burglary, police said.

Detectives recovered 13 of the 14 iPads, and 17 cellphones.
