Party At The Mayor's House! Gracie Mansion To Host Halloween Event

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) -- Want to party with the mayor this Halloween?

Mayor Bill de Blasio announced Wednesday that Gracie Mansion is going to host a Halloween party.

The party will be held on Oct. 28 and guests are asked to bring a non-perishable food item for a charity drive.

Space is limited and those interested are asked to register at the mayor's office's website.

De Blasio and his wife Chirlane McCray plan to dress up for the occasion. The mayor is unafraid to be goofy and has said in the past that a pirate outfit is his "go-to'' Halloween costume.

De Blasio, his wife and their two teenage children moved into the Manhattan mansion this year. They are the first family to reside there since 2001. De Blasio's predecessor Michael Bloomberg chose to remain in his home.
