Officials: Unidentified Smell Leads To Do-Not-Drink Water Warning In New Paltz

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A warning has been issued to not drink the tap water in the town of New Paltz.

Officials said they've received complaints from several locations about an unidentified smell.

Residents are being urged to use bottled water for drinking and cooking until the tap water can be deemed safe.

The SUNY New Paltz campus stopped selling bottled water in 2015. The college said it's working with town leaders to bring bottled water to the campus.
