Officials In Jersey City Evacuate 8 Buildings Amid Concerns That They Could Collapse
JERSEY CITY, N.J.(CBSNewYork) -- Officials in Jersey City evacuated eight commercial buildings on Newark Avenue on Tuesday.
The Department of Buildings is trying to stabilize one of the buildings that was damaged by crews working on a vacant lot. There are concerns that the structure could collapse.
Newark Ave between Erie and Grove Streets will remain closed until further notice. Businesses in the area will be closed on Wednesday.
