Official: Tailgating Ban At PNC Bank Arts Center Doesn't Apply To Concerts
NEW JERSEY (CBSNewYork) -- New rules are being put in place for the parking lot at PNC Bank Arts Center and at least one report said the rules included a ban on tailgating for summer concert season.
Town officials, however, say it isn't so.
As WCBS 880's Marla Diamond reported, the headlines may have had some concertgoers crying in their beer, but as Homdel's Administrator Donna Vieira explained, "this ordinance has nothing to do with tailgating."
Homdel is cracking down on large non-concert events in PNC Bank Arts Center's parking lot that have been driving nearby residents crazy.
"They had an event that started at 6 a.m., and they had a DJ go on a Saturday morning at 6 a.m. Our residents were getting music blared at them," Vieira said.
Vieira said efforts to work something out with the venue's operator Live Nation were unsuccessful so they took matters into their own hands.
Live Nation was unavailable for comment.
