NYPD: Off-duty correction officer shot outside Astoria nightclub, expected to survive
NEW YORK -- An off-duty correction officer is the latest victim of gun violence in New York City.
Police say the 31-year-old man was leaving a club in Astoria, Queens, just before 5 a.m. Saturday. That's when he was shot in the leg.
The three suspects robbed him and took off in a black sedan.
The victim is expected to be OK. Video shows police flooding Steinway Street as he was taken to Elmhurst General Hospital, CBS2's Christina Fan reported.
Police believe he was targeted for his Rolex and a gold chain.
The Correction Officers' Benevolent Association is offering a $10,000 reward for any information that could lead to an arrest.
