2 NYPD Officers, 1 Retired Officer Accused Of Taking Thousands Of Dollars In Bribes

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Two NYPD officers and one retired officer face charges in an alleged tow truck corruption scheme.

Officers Heather Busch, Robert Hassett and Robert Smith are accused of taking thousands of dollars in bribes.

The U.S. Attorney alleges they would steer damaged accident vehicles to a tow truck and auto repair business in exchange for cash payments.

All three are charged with bribery and conspiracy.
